Since the early 1980s, the Burton Shield (West Midlands County Schools' FA knock-out cup) has been dominated by associations from outside of Birmingham. After Saltley lifted the title in 1982, it took over 30 years for another Birmingham association to claim the crown when Erdington and Saltley won it in 2016. Below are all the BPSFA associations who have won the Burton Shield since Saltley in 1982.

Erdington and Saltley (2015) shared the cup with Redditch after the teams couldn't be separated following extra time and the game ending in a 1-1 draw.

Erdington and Saltley (2017) continued their dominance of the competition when they won a nail biting affair against league champions Brierley Hill and Dudley.

Erdington and Saltley (2016) retained the trophy after a resounding 9-0 win over Brierley Hill and Dudley.

Sutton Coldfield (2018) ensured the cup stayed in Birmingham when they won it for the first time in their history to make it a historic treble of the WMCSFA league, 7-a-side and Burton Shield.
